Last weekend the Luxembourgish national time trial championships took place in Eschweiler. Both, the elite athletes and the U23 athletes, faced 24.6 kilometres.
In the U23 category Luc Turchi and Tom Wirtgen were eager to show a good race. In fact, the Leopard DT riders dominated the time trial and Tom was able to take the title as national champion.
Pit Schlechter and Kevin Feiereisen tried their best in the elite race. Even if time trial is not their favourite discipline, they performed well and finished fifth and sixth. The race was won by former Leopard DT rider Bob Jungels (Trek Factory Racing). Interestingly, Tom would have finished third in the elite race, as he rode faster than Laurent Didier (Trek Factory Racing).

In the U23 category, Tom Wirtgen won his second national championships after the time trial on Thursday. Again Luc Turchi came in second. All in all, Leopard DT performed really good, as all five riders finished the race in the Top-9. Leopard DT's German riders showed an active race in Bensheim, too. Local hero Jan Dieteren was part of a breakaway of eight riders that shaped the championships. However, no Leopard DT athlete was able to fight for the win in the last lap.
